What is the difference between Natural, Dental and Dynamic?

Every baby has their own preference when it comes to a pacifier. That is why Difrax offers various teat shapes that match the natural sucking needs and development of your child.

• Natural: Has a symmetrical shape with a flat base and a round, oval end. Because both sides are the same, it does not matter how the pacifier sits in the mouth. Ideal for babies who prefer a symmetrical teat shape.
• Dental: Has an orthodontic shape with a flat bottom and a convex top. The flat part rests on the tongue and provides extra grip while sucking, while the convex part supports the palate. As a result, the Dental pacifier contributes to the natural development of the tongue, jaw and palate muscles.
• Dynamic: Has a flexible silicone suction part that is made up of multiple silicone layers. This causes the teat to move with your baby's natural sucking rhythm and imitate the movement of the mother's nipple. This makes the Dynamic Pacifier particularly suitable for babies who are or have been breastfed.

Clean the pacifier before first use by boiling it for a maximum of 3 minutes. You can also sterilize the pacifier in the microwave with the Difrax Sterilizing Egg or clean it in the dishwasher on the top rack. Check the pacifier for damage before each use and replace it immediately if you see cracks, weak spots or other damage.

With daily use, we recommend replacing the pacifier every 6 weeks. In addition, check the pacifier regularly by gently pulling on the silicone suction part. Replace the pacifier immediately if it is damaged.

Yes. After boiling or sterilization, some water may remain in the silicone suction part. This is normal and does not pose a health risk. First let the pacifier cool down and then press the silicone suction part firmly against the shield a few times. The excess water drains out of the suction part through the back of the pacifier. Any condensation or small water droplets that remain are harmless.

Is your child teething and is the pacifier bitten a lot? Then we recommend using a Difrax or LOVI teething ring. A teething ring has been specially developed for safe biting and helps to cool and soften sensitive gums. Check a frequently used pacifier carefully for damage.
